Hello fellow bloggers! So sorry for the hiatus from blogging. I've had plenty to blog about, but have felt guilty for not having pictures to accompany a post. Gonna have to get over that.
The big news of the day is that I got to the chiropractor today. On Friday, while leaving the Y pool, a lady was impatiently waiting on my parking space. (Don't rush me! I've got two kids and a boatload of stuff.) I was trying to hurry for her and in the process, I popped something in my back while putting the stroller in the trunk. I thought I might be able to sleep it off or just stretch it out, but this morning it was horrible. The first appointment I could get with Dr. Graves was 3:15, but I wasn't waiting another day.
By the time 3:15 rolled around, it was hurting to breathe deeply. When I told the doctor that, he was pretty sure he already knew what was wrong. Some strategic pressing around confirmed that I somehow popped my ribs out in my upper back! He adjusted the front and back. (I had no idea you could pop ribs at your sternum.) He told me I wouldn't get relief immediately -- and I definitely haven't felt better yet -- but that some Aleve and an ice pack would help. I'd normally go back in a couple of days for another adjustment, but he's out the rest of the week for federal jury duty! Kill me! I have to wait until Monday.
I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to avoid lifting Stuarts mammoth carseat but still be able to get out of the house...

Happy Mother's Day!
Nope, you read it right. Mother's Day. I can't quite figure it out either.
Yesterday, we had attempted nap time -- although we're still not doing very well in that department -- and I decided Avery had been in her room long enough (without sleeping, of course.) There was a pair of panties outside the door that had been tossed over the safety gate. When I let Avery out, I realized she had removed her shorts, taken off her diaper, thrown it away and put on a pair of Dora panties. When she saw me, she exclaimed, "Happy Mother's Day!" No idea.

Where do they live?
After I picked Avery up at MDO yesterday, we sat down in the kitchen and she had a snack while I went through her backpack. I pulled out her daily report and her artwork. She had colored sea life. I pointed to each animal and had her tell me what they were. She correctly identified the octopus, fish and starfish. However, when I asked him where they lived, she replied, "Mount Vernon!" She kills me.
I don't know that she'll ever let go of learning about George Washington. She knows he was the first president and that he lived at Mount Vernon, but now she think everyone we know lives there!

Memorial Day Braves getaway
We headed to the great city of Atlanta for the long Memorial Day weekend. (Yes, I'm just now getting around to posting about it.) We wanted to hit a Braves series and managed to talk my parents into meeting us there to join in the fun -- and help us wrangle the children! While it was definitely hot for day games, it wasn't unbearable and we had great seats in the shade each day.
Nana and Papa went with us to the Saturday and Sunday games and then took Avery back to NC with them after the Sunday game --- for a week!!!
On Memorial Day, Phil Stacey led the national anthem and it was spectacular! Probably one of the best performances I've heard.
Stuart was exhausted by all the baseball drama!
Avery loves her Papa! Here they are at Turner Field waiting for Chad to pick up the tickets.
It was almost easier to carry Avery on our shoulders through the crowds.
Avery also discovered her new love for peanuts. Papa had to "open" them for her.
We had a nice, easy walk back to our hotel. We only stayed 2 blocks away. It was perfect!
I definitely have more pictures from our last few days, but I won't attempt the mega-post. More next time...
